CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF THE LANTERN MEET

In 2007 a band of poets began a gathering that would change the face of poetry in Uganda. It all began with a poetry circle. They wrote, shared, critiqued; and one year layer, in 2008, staged a poetry recital — the first of its kind and one of a kind — a novel experience that would spring a wave of poetry nights and mark Kampala as one poetry’s busiest cities. Against many odds, they went on to create a signature production; a series of 14 poetry recitals constituting Kampala’s biggest poetry night ever — the Lantern Meet Recital.

Now after 10 years of blazing the trail in poetry, the Lantern Meet brand spread its wings into publishing.
